Are you happy about your work?

An challenging question, isn’t it?

The reason why I am blogging about happiness at work is because of a quote I read from a young Canadian golfer. Her name is Brooke Henderson and she is from Smiths Falls, Ontario. She was recently quoted as saying; “Getting to wake up and do what you love every single day is pretty cool.” Don’t we all wish we could say that?

I believe we all could say that if we changed our focus. Some of you are saying, ‘What do you mean by that? I need to keep the job I have. It is what puts food on the table and makes my payments.” I agree that most of us work so that we can eat and pay for the things we’ve bought already.

But what if there was another way of looking at your work? What if we could view our work in different terms?

What I am talking about is changing your objective about why you go to work.

What if your objective for work was not all about you?

What about if your work was all about the service you are providing your employer and in turn how your service is contributing to the good of those that buy your product or service?

Wouldn’t this improve your view of your work?

Why don’t you give it a try?
