Are you a servant leader?
Didn’t you know that the best leaders are servants?
We’ve all read about the entitled leaders who think that they deserve special monetary incentives or private jets. Sadly they don’t understand that it is bad business and it builds large barriers between themselves and their employees. These management excesses show waste and inefficiency and a ‘what’s in it for me’ attitude.
With a ‘what’s in it for me’ attitude it starts to permeate throughout an entire organization and then we wonder why every one is self-centered and selfish.
A company is only as good as it leader! If you want to lead begin by serving those you work with and for. Be the ear that listens to their concerns. Be the action taker to help them in their desire to make improvement. Be their sounding board to help in their want to improve things.
Being a servant leader has many long-term benefits, doesn’t it?
What can you do today that shows you are interested in serving others?
