Is going to work more challenging than it is fun?

I know that if you are not having fun at work, you are never going to be a success. Are you questioning my statement? If you are, let me give you an example. Many years ago I worked in the funeral business. You are probably thinking that the funeral business is not a place where you can have fun. I’ve noticed that the vast majority of funeral directors I know have a wonderful sense of humor and a wonderful sense of life.

What is the reason for my statement?

Funeral directors know what it is like to see life end way too soon. They know that life is uncertain from day to day. Knowing that, they want to live life in the grandest way. That is not by joking all the time, but by appreciating the good times in the fullest way.

Yes, when you see them at a service they are subdued, but that is because of the reverence they have for their profession. But don’t confuse their reverence with a person who does not enjoy the peculiarities of life.

If they can enjoy life, why can’t you?

If you are not having fun at work, you need to consider moving on from what you are doing, don’t you?
