Are you virtuous in your actions?
Are you asking what does virtuous mean?
Virtuous means having or showing high moral standards. Now some of you may be saying what has that to do with me? I believe everything. While we live in a world that tries to hide the important and increase the trivial, I believe being virtuous is crucial in making you stand out from the crowd.
The reason for this blog was due to a quote I read by Mary Loftus in Psychology Today. She wrote; “Self-confidence, resilience, and fearlessness produce bold leaders who perform well on the job, whether as presidents, CEOs, or war heroes. But the very same virtues are also just a few degrees from antisocial behaviors with decidedly negative consequences. Lack awareness of your own fears and limitations and it’s easy to become reckless, impulsive, and callous, ignoring other people’s fears and limitations as well.”
As Ms. Loftus stated virtues are just a few degrees from anti-social behavior, and I will add that they may even be misunderstood and you may be criticized for your actions. But if you feel good in your core by practicing these virtues you will have less stress and you can sleep without worry and feel great every morning, won’t you?
Now you have to ask yourself; what is really important in your life?
Have you clarified these values, and made them a priority in your life?
Your actions will tell everyone what is really important to you, won’t they?
