Can a business be like a family?
Are there real benefits in using the family analogy in business?
I think there are many benefits!
Why do I say that?
I read a quote by Gabriel B. O’Donnell, O.P. recently that stated; ‘The family cannot become a small island turned in upon itself. It must radiate love and that love must be expressed in concern for others and a willingness to help those in need.’
Now think about this as I change one word in the quote; ‘The business cannot become a small island turned in upon itself. It must radiate love and that love must be expressed in concern for others and a willingness to help those in need.’
Yes a business cannot be isolated it must be part of a community. A business must also show love for its employees and its clients. The love I am writing about here is brotherly and sisterly love. The love that wants to make sure that the relationships they have with their clients is very beneficial for both the business and the client. And finally a business must express concern and a willingness to help prospective customers with their needs.
I know this blog may be radical to many of you who read this, but I have a question for you that doubt this;
Wouldn’t this be a great organization to work for?
