Do you always have to be right?
Have you considered why being right is that important?
As a former school trustee I think that the reason why being right is so important is that in school we are taught that being wrong is not good. Can you imagine if Thomas Edison had thought that being wrong was not good? Reflect on the fact that Mr. Edison had 1,093 U.S. patents on inventions that he created, and considering he lived for 84 years that is a tremendous amount of productivity in a short amount of time. I know that he had to go back to the drawing board and re-calculate and re-work his projects, as you can be assured that he was not right all the time. He said it all when he said; “Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration.”
A few questions to finish this off;
- Wouldn’t it make more sense to be wrong at times and learn from your mistakes?
- Isn’t being wrong and admitting it a sign of humility?
- Wouldn’t humility make you into a person that more people could relate to?
