Do you copy what others do?

Do you believe that this is the best way to improve?

Over the years we’ve heard a lot about ‘modeling’. As you know modeling is the general process in which one person serves as models for another. In other words if a person is very successful when you model them it means you will exhibit or imitate their behavior then you will become as successful as they are.

I have a problem with this concept!

The problem I have is that it forgets about the differences in personalities and abilities. Let me give you an example. You are a very quiet person, with an eye for details. The successful person is very social and builds rapport very easy. This is a very big difference in personalities isn’t it?  How does a very quiet person become very social and stay true to themselves? I know that it is very difficult. As Oscar Wilde once said, “Be yourself; everybody else is taken.”

If you want to model the person why not model the areas that are more your style? Did you ever think it is the questions the person asks? Or could it be the way the person follows up on enquiries?

These may be not the modeling you had in mind, but I believe that they can work.

This can also reduce your stress level, won’t it?
