Is decisiveness important in leadership?

Let me give you some background first before I answer that. I started my first company when I was 26 years old. The business struggled for the first couple of years, and then it took off like a rocket. I believe one of the keys to the success was after a couple of years of following the crowd I made a decision to change the way we operated. This decision was so final that we could not go back to where the business was before. The next 11 years I owned that business was a wonderful experience filled with challenges and growth.

So as you can see decisiveness was important, as it created a very successful business and helped me understand that if you are in charge you must be willing to take action.
