Let me start by reminding you that in 1894 Pierre de Coubertin proposed a revival of the ancient Olympic tradition, and thus the modern-day Olympic Games were born. He wanted a motto and chose Altius, Citius, Fortius – Higher, Faster, Stronger. According to history he borrowed this from a friend Henri Didon (a Dominican priest).
