Do you know what ‘to judge’ means?
Have you ever been told not to judge?
Recently this happened to a close friend and he was shocked. He was shocked because he thought he understood what the words ‘to judge’ meant. It was his understanding that to judge is the process of the way we form an opinion after consideration. This situation got me very interested, so I checked more into this. I found out that ‘to judge’ is the mental ability to perceive and assess situations to form an opinion.
I don’t know about you, but to be without the ability to judge – life makes no sense. I say that because I live in a free-country and having the ability to express one’s opinion coming after you’ve assessed a situation and formed an opinion, makes so much sense.
A thought, maybe instead of pointing the finger at my friend, maybe it’s time to look at the person telling you not to judge. Does this person want to rule his or her ‘kingdom’ because of their insecurities? Or are they up to no good and don’t like to be called on their behavior?
How would you handle this?
