Have you ever been immensely focused on one area of your life?
Did you notice later that you’ve been neglecting another very important area of your life?
Years ago I was so focused on the development of our manufacturing business that before I knew it our oldest daughter was 13 and our youngest was 6. This was a wake-up call for me as I was concerned that I had ignored their needs as a Father. So what do you do when this type of event happens to you?
- Get Organized – by that I mean re-organize your life and plan for the areas that you’ve neglected. I also believe that you have to re-evaluate your values. Your values are the things that are most important to you. For example to say you want to spend more time with your family is fine, but if it really isn’t a high value the promise is very empty.
- Don’t Procrastinate – take action now, don’t wait, do not waste another day but take action on the getting organized part above.
- Don’t Get Overwhelmed – don’t try to do too much too quick. This is because you will only get frustrated and revert back to your old habits and further miss out on the area of your life that has been neglected.
Doesn’t this make sense?
What is one thing you can do today that will move you toward the life you want?
