Is certainty in your life important?
Is this certainty or sureness an absolute necessity?
I would agree that most of us need some certainty in our lives. But is this quest for certainty stressing you out?
Let me give you an example. This young man meets this woman and falls in love with her. They get married and he decides that everything has to be his way in the marriage. He believes that the way things are the way they were when they first met NEED to stay the same. After some time they have a child, but he stills wants things to stay the same. And on it goes.
Is it any wonder that this young man is killing himself from the inside out, trying to control his life by controlling what is going on in his family? I say killing himself because the stress he is creating in his body by this absolute focus on certainty is going to lead to his death.
If you are in this type of scenario think about this quote from Eleanor Roosevelt. She stated; “If life were predictable it would cease to be life, and be without flavor.”
I believe that the secret to success is not getting stressed about what happens. Yes, I believe that and it is a goal for me. Unfortunately I do not always live my life that way, but it still is a goal, a very honorable goal.
Is this a goal that makes sense to you?
When can you start moving towards this goal?
