Is your personality different at work than at home?
Do you think that each part of your life is separate and distinct?
At times I’ve seen people try to make this happen and it has lead to a life full of stress.
The reason for this is that you can not live a compartmentalized life. By that I mean that all parts of your life are inter-connected. The areas of your life affect each other. For example; if you’ve had a tough day at work, you are bound to bring some of that home. As Smiley Blanton (a psychoanalyst who worked with Dr. Norman Vincent Peale), once said “Men err when they think they can be inhuman exploiters in their business life, and loving husbands and fathers at home.”
So what can you do?
It is time to make a decision. The question to answer is; do you want to live a life of joy or do you want to live a life of stress? If you want to live a life of joy decide that you want to be the person you were created to be. Who would that be? A person of joy who appreciates every aspect of life, no matter the situation.
Doesn’t this make sense?
