What does your future look like?
Is it bright and joyful, or is it dull and boring?
What ever way you described it is the way your future will be – unless you change your attitude.
Your attitude is one of the most powerful drivers in your life. Your ability is what you’re skillful at. Your motivation influences your actions and what you do. Your attitude governs how well you do it.
Do you need to work on your ability, your motivation or your attitude?
I would say that if your future looks dull and boring, you need to work on improving your attitude.
Doesn’t that make sense?
That is a very good description of the distinction between ability, motivation and attitude Tim.
It is one that few writers or personal development trainers make, yet it is vitally important.
No matter how much ability a person has, without the right attitude it will not be enough for success.
I remember an astute manager telling me years ago that he would choose attitude over aptitude every time when hiring.
Having read your more recent post, I have been motivated to check my capitalisation and punctuation to the best of my ability!
Peter I appreciate your very gracious comment on the distinction between ability, motivation and attitude. After knowing you all these years I smiled at your motivation to check your capitalisation and punctuation. I say that because you are very talented when it comes to grammar.
