Which one of these stresses is getting to you?
Is it the pressure to perform, the pressure of time, or the pressure of your colleagues?
According to Deepak Chopra everyone has to cope with stress, it is just part of our way of life. But please consider the alternative to stress – no stress. As a former funeral director, I know that the only way to achieve no stress is to die. So what you have to do is figure out ways to handle the stress.
According to Dr. Chopra stress becomes damaging when it is repetitive, unpredictable or beyond your control. I want to talk about the one where you can have the most impact on. That is the control issue. If you are working for someone there is no way you can tell your boss what to do. As Dr. Chopra states ‘The secret is to make peace where control is impossible.’ If you are not working for anyone, in other words you are the boss/manager you can assert your self in many ways;
• You are adamant on respect being shown for each other in the workplace.
• You do work in the areas that fit with your strengths.
Can you see how these ways will help reduce your stress level?
