Who do you claim to be your friends?

Are you aware that at times the people you associate with can have a bad impact on you?

The reason for this blog is that lately I’ve witnessed some disturbing situations in relationships with people I know very well. Let me give you an example. This young woman had been a very selfless person. She found such joy in serving others. After some time with this ‘man’ in her life things started to change. She started to act like him and became very selfish and self-focused. The people who knew her very well started to get the brush off from her. She had decided that this was the way she was going to act, so people started to avoid her.

There is an old saying; ‘When you sleep with dogs you wake up with fleas.’ I believe that this is true for many people. But what can you and I do?

I believe you need to be aware of the attributes of those you are with. You need to ask yourself these questions;

  • Are the actions of __ good and life-enhancing?
  • Are their actions selfish and thoughtless?
  • If their actions are selfish and thoughtless, it’s time to move on, isn’t it?
