Why is it that we detest comments about our short failings?
The difference is in how we take these comments, isn’t it?
These comments are just opinions, aren’t they? Why should the comments upset you and ruin your day? Why would you give control over to someone else about how you are going to feel after they’ve made a comment?
I believe it is important to look at ourselves and not the person who makes a comment. Did you ever think that they had your best interests in mind with their comment? As Stephen R Covey said, “Just as we develop our physical muscles through overcoming opposition – such as lifting weights – we develop our character muscles by overcoming challenges and adversity.”
What can you do today to overcome your habit about taking comments about your short failings so negatively?
