6 Actions to Take as You Begin this New Year

I’ve come up with this list because I’ve used these actions in my preparation for this New Year. Give it a try, you might be very surprised at how much it will help you. These 6 actions are;

# 1 Think big! The question remains, why would you not think big? You’ve got a whole new year to do all you can to write the finest chapter in your life. Why wait? Why not think bigger than you’ve done for years? If you don’t want to think big, are you settling? Are you giving up at the beginning?

#2 Surround yourself with good people! While many gurus tell you to only associate with ‘great’ people, this doesn’t make sense to me. This is because good people are enjoyable to be around, they are supportive and if you get close enough to them you can ask them questions that will help you grow. The bottom-line is; how many great people do you know right now?

#3 Work hard! We are on this fine Earth for a limited amount of time, why would you want to waste this time? You’ve got to remember that if you are coasting, you are going down-hill. Does coasting downhill make sense?

#4 Develop your focus! I have found that in today’s World it is so easy to become distracted. What I’ve also found is that without focus you become mediocre or second-rate. A question; when is the last time you set out on a journey of some difficulty with a second-rate attitude? If you’ve done that before you know that it did not lead to what you wanted. In order to get focused, you need to ask yourself ‘why’ this project, goal or objective is necessary.

#5 Be prepared for failure! One of you reading this will think this is a negative statement. I beg to differ! This is because if you put on your ‘optimistic armor’, you will view small failures as opportunities to grow as a person and to grow the skills you need to become better.

#6 View life as an opportunity for constant and never-ending growth! As you know, if you are not growing you are dying. If you’ve ever seen a young sapling tree and cut into one of it’s branches you will see that it is the color green. You will also know that when a branch is green it is growing. I believe we should all be green and growing. It is learning something new each day. It is doing something that you’ve never done before so you can learn from it.

In conclusion I have a question for you; which of these actions can you do today?
