Did you know that a sense of humor can’t cure all?
Are you aware that a good laugh can cure many illnesses, though?
According to the Mayo Clinic when you start to laugh it does not lighten the mental load, it actually encourages physical changes in your body. It enhances your intake of oxygen rich air which will stimulate your heart, lungs and muscles. Laughter also cools down your stress response so you become more relaxed.
Furthermore laughter will help your body release neuropeptides to help fight stress and even more serious illnesses.
Doesn’t it make sense to have a good laugh everyday?
Would you like one today?
A plane was taking off from Kennedy Airport. After it reached a comfortable cruising altitude, the captain made an announcement over the intercom, “Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Welcome to Flight number 293, non-stop from New York to Los Angeles. The weather head is good and, therefore, we should have a smooth and uneventful flight. Now sit back and relax… OH, MY GOD!”
Silence followed, and after a few minutes, the captain came back on the intercom and said,
“Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so sorry if I scared you earlier. While I was talking to you, the flight attendant accidentally spilled a cup of hot coffee in my lap. You should see the front of my pants!”
A passenger in Business class yelled, “That’s nothing. You should see the back of mine!”
Has this story made you laugh?
If it has you have proven that laughter lightens your mental load, haven’t you?
Good one, yes I did laugh, had a few interesting flying experiences myself – not all laughable.
