Do you clarify expectations?
Isn’t important to do that when you are working with others?
I bring this up as I believe that assumptions are deadly. I say that because if you assume that someone will do something and they don’t, the plans that you have will usually fail. So why would you want this happen?
Clarifying expectations is a simple process? All that you have to do is ask the person responsible for an area of a project when they will have their work done. When you get their commitment have them write it down. Then get them to breakdown their actions into small parts and get them to estimate when the smaller parts will be done. With this you now have clarified the expectations and can check on them at the particular dates to see how their progress is moving. If they are missing their targeted dates ask what needs to be done or what help they will need.
Doesn’t this type of action help make a person responsible?
When will you start to clarify expectations?
