Is learning a high priority for you?

Is putting the learning into action also a priority?

I am sure some of you are saying; “Of course I always do that.’ All that I can say is good for you. I bring this up because there have been times in my life when I was a eager learner, but a very poor implementer of the ideas.

The second reason I bring this topic up is that a couple of weeks ago I conducted a presentation/workshop for a group of managers. At the end of the session, one of the mangers approached me to tell me a quotation that is both valid and humorous. The quote was from Will Rogers (the American humorist, social commentator and motion picture actor), he stated “There are three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.”

The questions I have for you are;

  • What type of a learner are you?
  • Is the way you are learning the most effective way?
