Is there a communication gap?
Have the important connections in your life seem to have faded away?
I ask these questions because with technology today the important conversations in our lives seem to have taken a back-seat to the trivial.
Consider a married couple that have had a very good relationship. Then one of the spouses buys a new tech device and is in constant contact with his/her friends at all hours of the day. What kind of an impact is that having on the relationship with his/her spouse?
It is my opinion that it is having a massive impact? I say that because the communication with this new technology is usually not life-enhancing.
So what needs to be done?
- A person with this new technology needs to decide and understand what is important in their life.
- He or She needs to limit the way and the amount of use of this technology.
- He or She need to set aside time weekly for deeper conversation that will both enhance their life and renew their commitments.
Does this make sense?
