What are the keys to becoming successful?

Is it  the accumulation money and assets?

I would argue that money and assets are not the keys to becoming success. Yes, the money and assets may add up but they are the not the keys to becoming successful.

I believe that if your emphasis is on growth and development as an individual you will become successful. I say that because if you grow and develop as a person you become better at all the activities you participate in. These activities include being a better spouse, a better parent, a better employee, or a better manager.

In order to grow and develop as a person you need to examine your life and decide what areas need improvement. Many people decide that they need to become a better manager and focus immense amounts of time on this and then come home and decide to manage their spouse and their children. What is the result of that? A very unhappy spouse and upset children with your new found managerial skills.

In order to grow and develop as a person you need to examine how you are doing with your character. What are the character traits I speak about? It is about confidence, adaptability, patience, humor, responsibility, resilience, and honesty for example.

What can you do today that will improve your character, thus helping you become more successful?
