What do you think of micro-managing a company?

Would it help or hinder your staff?

From my background in managing and owning a business this is a challenge. I state that because when you are a manager it means that you manage. The difficulty lies in how much you are involved with what is needed to get done.

I’ve learned that if you want to make an employee very unproductive you make sure that he or she has no say in their work. This will cause him or her to become stressed and use none of the creativity or decision making capabilities that are in each and every person. What does this lead to?

This leads to an employee with potential leaving either through stress or just leaving your employment thus costing the business more money to train another new person.

The decision is yours, although doesn’t it make more sense to manage your employees so that they grow, become better decision makers and use their creativity to make your business all that it can be?

What can you do to be a better manager of people, today?
