Why do people do these things?

The other day I received a wonderful letter from a charity with some stationary as a ‘gift’. The stationary was well prepared and was of high quality. In fact, it was so wonderful I looked deeper into finding out how I could purchase it from this charity. The answer was ‘no these are not for sale’. In other words, they were more interested in getting my donation.

This confused me because if they were looking at the big picture they would not have been so narrow focused. They would have made the stationary available and sold it in such a way to make money on it – thus helping the charity financially.

Are there times in your life when you don’t look at the big picture?
