Is Facebook worth it?

Yes, is Facebook worth your time?

In a Danish study I read that it stated that those who took a week-long Facebook break felt better than those who didn’t. The people who took the break had more focus and were more satisfied in real-life.

If you were to look deeper at the results you’d find that;

  • 5 in 10 Facebook users envy other’s experiences
  • 1 in 3 envy other people’s happiness, and
  • 4 in 10 envy other’s success.

Now, let’s look at the one word that is very prominent when looking at the deeper results – envy. Envy by definition means a feeling of being discontent or resenting someone else’s possessions, qualities, or luck. How sad is that!

Shouldn’t it be up to each of us individually to think the thoughts of what is the best life for us?

If that is true, what 2 things can you do today that get you focused on your own life and eliminate envy in your life?

  1. Tim,I believe that Facebook is probably the biggest single cause of reduced productivity, increased unhappiness and elevated stress levels in today’s world.

    Because it offers wider exposure than almost any other medium, I have an account on it so that I can maintain business pages for my different business activities and as a means of attracting visitors to my websites.

    Out of concerns for privacy and security, I rarely visit my personal page and never post personal or family photos or information.
